Yup, Lombok is not just about the beach. Lombok also has full of mountains and hills, so it’s no surprise that it’s home to many beautiful waterfalls. The cool, fresh water and lush natural surroundings make waterfalls a top pick for travelers. So, here we are curating Lombok to visit.
Waterfalls in Lombok
Benang Kelambu Waterfall
Benang Kelambu sits at the foot of Mount Rinjani, in central Lombok. It’s about 32 km from Mataram. This 40-meter waterfall seems to flow from thick foliage, though it actually comes from crevices in the cliffs.
You can’t swim here, but you can stand under the falling water for a cool soak. The path is steep and rugged—much like a hiking trail—so good physical condition is recommended. The hike takes about 30 minutes through dense forest.
Tiu Kelep Waterfall

Tiu Kelep is one of Lombok’s most well-known waterfall in Lombok. It’s located in Senaru Village, Bayan District, North Lombok, and stands at 42 meters high. It features a strong and steady water flow.
Right beneath it, there’s a pool that catches the waterfall’s flow. Locals believe that bathing in this water also helps you stay youthful. The trip from Mataram to this waterfall is around 60 km.
Sendang Gile Waterfall

Sendang Gile Waterfall stands about 35 meters tall. When you visit, you’ll be greeted by clear water and a refreshingly cool breeze. This spot is so calming, you might find yourself wanting to linger for hours. Visitors often play in the water or go for a dip to enjoy the peaceful vibe.
The scenery is even more beautiful thanks to the green trees and plants all around. It only takes about 15 minutes to reach the waterfall from the trekking path to Mount Rinjani. But keep in mind—you’ll need to climb 500 steps to get there. Locals say that washing your face or bathing here can make you look younger!
Tiu Pupas Waterfall

Tiu Pupas is located in Kerurak Hamlet, Genggaleng Village, Gangga District. This waterfall is around 50 meters high, with a pool about 4 meters deep and 100 square meters wide. The name comes from the local language: “Tiu” means a large water pool, while “Pupas” refers to tree roots that grow along the cliffs and mountain areas.
Since it’s still under the radar, this spot tends to be quiet. You can enjoy the place in peace, with no crowds around to interrupt your moment.
Batara Lejang Waterfall

This hidden gem lies upstream from Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep. Batara Lejang remains mostly untouched, with few visitors. But that doesn’t mean it’s lacking charm. The natural vibe makes it perfect for relaxing, and it even has a hot spring!
To reach the site, you’ll have to go via the Mount Rinjani hiking trail—ideal for adventurers.
Tiu Teja Waterfall
Located in Santong Village, Kayangan District, North Lombok, Tiu Teja stands about 40 meters tall and features two side-by-side streams. It’s a new tourism spot being developed in the region.
One magical thing about this place is that when sunlight hits the falls just right, a rainbow appears—hence the name. In Sasak (the local language), “Tiu” means pool, and “Teja” means rainbow. It’s truly a sight to behold, much like top tourist spots in Jakarta.
Kerta Gangga Waterfall
This waterfall sits in Kerta Hamlet, Genggelang Village, Gangga District, North Lombok. It has three tiers, with two visible side-by-side and one hidden from view. Standing at about 40 meters tall, Kerta Gangga offers beauty and serenity.
Be cautious if you plan to visit—the road is winding with steep ups and downs. But nature lovers will find it worth the trek, especially with the cool, refreshing splash of the falls.
Benang Setokel Waterfall

Benang Setokel has two streams falling from a height of about 30 meters. There’s a small pool below where you can swim or bathe. The name means “a bundle of thread,” inspired by the waterfall’s soft, flowing look, like strands of thread tied together.
You’ll find it in Pemotoh Hamlet, Aik Berik Village, North Batukliang District, Central Lombok—about a 45-minute drive from Mataram.
Timponan Waterfall
Located in Praba Hamlet, Batu Mekar Village, Lingsar District, West Lombok, this waterfall is roughly 35 meters from Mataram. It sits deep within the Sesaot forest, right at the edge of local farmland.
Standing 35 meters tall, it pours straight down into a round pool about 10 meters wide and deep enough to reach an adult’s chest. It’s home to crabs, small fish, and shrimp.
The path is long, slippery, and not easy on foot—locals often use it to reach their gardens. Expect to cross two small rivers and steep, sandy slopes. There’s an alternative route through Argopuro (Sesaot’s highest point), but it’s tough going through dense bushes. There are no facilities here yet—not even signs.
Semporonan Waterfall

Semporonan Waterfall lies within the protected Senggigi forest, in Timbanuh Village, Pringgasela District, East Lombok. It’s about 30 meters tall and surrounded by vines that cling to the rock walls and reach down into the pool.
Before you arrive, you’ll pass through lush green rice fields and scenic forest paths, with cool fresh air all the way to the falls. It’s a peaceful journey—and a breathtaking destination.
