As mentioned earlier, this island is not very busy. However, a few international tourists still come here. You can just relax with nature or go explore Gili Nanggu’s beauty.
2. Watching Sunrise and Sunset
Since the island is small, you can see both the sunrise and sunset. Go to the east side of Gili Nanggu for sunrise, and to the west side for sunset.
3. A Great Place for Snorkeling
Geographically, Gili Nanggu is located between the warm water flow from the Pacific Ocean. This makes the salt level lower than the Indian Ocean.
This group of small islands is also part of Wallacea, one of the richest natural zones in the world, full of biodiversity. Wallacea is where different organisms from around the world meet. That’s why snorkeling here is allowed—and be ready to be amazed by the underwater beauty.
4. Special Turtle Sanctuary

Fishing or feeding the fish randomly is not allowed—this is to protect the ocean and beach ecosystem of Gili Nanggu.
How to Get to Gili Nanggu

There are two ways to get to Gili Nanggu. Both ways need you to take a boat to reach this beautiful island. Here’s how to get to this island, which is near Dusun Ketapang, Lombok, based on ntbprov.go.id:
1. Cross from Lembar Port
If you come from the airport, it takes about 1 to 1.5 hours by taxi to get to Lembar Port, with a fee of around Rp200,000. But if you come from Mataram, the fare is about Rp65,000, and the ride takes around 30–45 minutes. If you come alone, you can rent a motorcycle and go there.
From Lembar Port, you can cross to Gili Nanggu by boat in about 35–45 minutes.
The boat fare is around Rp350,000 per boat, and one boat can carry 10–15 people.
If the boat is full, each person only needs to pay around Rp30,000–Rp35,000 for a round-trip ride.
2. Cross from Tawun or Tanjung Kelor Village
These villages are in Sekotong. From here, the boat ride to Gili Nanggu only takes about 15–20 minutes or less. If the crossing from Lembar costs around Rp30,000–Rp35,000, here you only need to pay about Rp10,000.Please note, all the prices mentioned above may change depending on the management or service provider.
