If you’re looking for a quiet island to escape with beautiful views and soft white sand, heads to the untouched Gili Poh. Located in Sekotong, West Lombok, Gili Poh is one of the lesser-known small islands in this area. Mostly uninhabited, and this is perfect for a peaceful getaway or a short stop while island hopping.
Gili Poh: Secluded Island with All its Beautiful

Gili Poh is a small island that sits just west of Gili Nanggu. From Gili Nanggu, you can actually see Gili Poh across the sea. It’s a peaceful spot with stunning coral reefs, white sand beaches, and clear blue waters.
One of the first things you will notice is the island’s soft and bright white sand. When the sun is high, the sand shines almost like snow. The air is fresh but can be warm in the afternoon, making it ideal for sunbathing or relaxing in the shade of a tree or beach hut.
There is a small lighthouse on the island, giving it a unique charm. You’ll also find a single house and a berugak (traditional Lombok gazebo) on the southern side of the island. Other than that, Gili Poh is quiet and untouched—just you, the sea, and nature.
How to Get to Gili Poh

Getting to Gili Poh is easy if you’re already in Lombok. First, you’ll need to drive to Sekotong, which takes around 1.5 to 2 hours from Lombok International Airport or around 45 to 50 minutes from Mataram City.
From there, head to either Tawun Beach or Elak-Elak Beach. These are the two common spots to find a local fisherman who can take you to Gili Poh by boat. The boat ride only takes about 10 minutes, and the scenery along the way is beautiful.
Boats are usually rented for a round trip. Based on one traveler’s experience, renting a boat from near Tawun Pier costs approximately IDR 500,000 for a round trip. This included a drop-off and pick-up for a camping trip on the island. Prices may vary depending on the season and how many people are in your group.
