If you are still confuse of what to do and what to see if you are visiting Sembalun, here we do a recap of a day trip in Sembalun. And the thing is, this little hamlet in foot of Rinjani Mountain will amazed you away.
Tucked in east of Lombok, lies a village that time seems to hold gently in its hands—Sembalun. And, I mean, you dont need to climb the mountain to enjoy all the enchanting thing about Rinjani. You can just come to this village, and enjoy its scenery.
This is not just a stop—it is a story. Sembalun is a place that every wanderer, every soul-searcher, ought to place on their must-go list. Cradled at the foot of Mount Rinjani, in the eastern folds of the island, Sembalun is more than a village—it is a gateway to wonder.
The Road from Mataram: 07:00 – 09:30
Set out at first light, from the city of Mataram. By motorcycle, you’ll arrive by 9:30 AM—wind in your hair, views unfolding like poems.
If by car, expect an extra half-hour or so—more time to listen to the rhythm of the road.
No vehicle? No worry. Motorbike rentals run between Rp 75,000–100,000/day, and cars from Rp 375,000–2,500,000 depending on the style of your steed.
Pusuk Sembalun Park: 09:30 – 11:30

Your first stop, like a breath after a long silence: Pusuk Sembalun Nature Park. Here, you’ll stand above the world—900 meters above sea level.
Layered rice fields stretch like green patchwork quilts. Hills roll like lullabies. And if you’re lucky? Clear skies.
But should a gentle mist greet you instead, wrap yourself in a jacket and lean into the chill. And don’t miss the warm, chewy Sembalun cilok—a local snack best enjoyed with cold fingers and a view.
Taman Surga Rinjani: 11:40 – 13:00

Next, let your spirit play at Taman Surga Rinjani—Rinjani’s Garden of Heaven. Wander through leafy tunnels where blossoms whisper, sway on swings with mountain backdrops, glide down slides that echo with laughter.
Among sunflowers and smiles, the world softens.
All this joy? Just Rp 20,000—a memory well made.
Strawberry Fields Forever: 13:10 – 14:00
Afternoon light drips like honey onto the fields of Sembalun, where rows of strawberries wait.
Pick them yourself—red, ripe, and still warm from the sun. Taste as you go, stain your fingers sweet.
For just Rp 20,000–30,000, you’ll carry home not just berries, but stories.
Kedai Sawah Sembalun: 14:00 – 15:30
And now, pause. Let your feet rest. Let your eyes wander.
At Kedai Sawah Sembalun, sip coffee while gazing out at rice fields that ripple in the breeze.
Beyond them, the quiet majesty of Mount Rinjani holds the sky.
Here, food is not rushed. Time is not chased. Everything is just as it should be.
Scootering into the Sunset: 15:50 – 17:00

Before the journey home, let yourself ride one last breeze.
Sembalun scooters are your chariot—glide through green paddies and along quiet hills.
Let the wind carry your laughter. Let the landscape write itself into your heart.
Until Next Time, Sembalun…
Sembalun isn’t simply a destination. It is a whisper from the mountains.
A lullaby of leaves. A tapestry of rice and cloud and sunlight.
One day is never enough—but it is enough to fall in love.
